About Me

So, pretty much I am Bryanna Bosch and I will be the most amazing person you will ever meet. First off I will let you know that I am a Gr.11 student at ACSS, and my goal is to graduate and go onto Policing and Peacekeeping. Now that you know that, here's a little something something more about myself. I am super outgoing and open, and just a really layed back person to talk to. I have my acoustic guitar, which is my baby and play when i wanna just chill. I also play soccer for Langley U18 X-treme. So there you have it, pretty much me.

Earth Day

Earth day is a day dedicated to respecting and appreciating our earth. On this day, April 22 we celebrate all around the world. It is on this day that we are to remember all the ways we can participate in making our planet a better place to live. Through the years people have participated to help our planet by organizing protests against deterioration of the environment and groups fought against oil spills, toxic dumps, pesticides, extinction of wildlife, etc. How this all began was in the fall of 1969 when the U.S Senator Gaylord Nelson announced that across the nation there would be a grassroots demonstration on the environment. This was only a few months before the scheduled April 22, Earth day that The New York Times printed an article stating that the earth was experiencing “global cooling” which caused a rise in concern about the health of our planet. Now April 22, 1970 is formally known as the beginning of the modern environmental movement and every day people around the world are catching on to the aspect of contributing to the Earth, and are in some way helping protect the future preservation of our planet that we call home.

Love the Earth: it's the only one we've got.

Earth Day Songs & Poems:

Earth Day
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.

And just as I
Need every bit
Of me to make
My body fit,
So Earth needs
Grass and stone and tree
And things that grow here
Naturally.

That's why we
Celebrate this day.
That's why across
The world we say:
As long as life,
As dear, as free,
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.

Personally, I believe that Earth Day is a great way to get people and keep people involved in helping to save our planet. We need to keep taking care of and preserving our planet so that when we grow old, our children and grandchildren are able to still have the Earth to live on. This world is miraculous with all that lives here. We need to be able to keep growing and living green, and lessen the damage that we leave behind for all the generations to come.

Earth Day Quotes:

"Every day is Earth Day"

Global warming is a huge problem for our world at these times and should be another reason for us to want to take care of what we have of the earth before we lose it completely. What Global warming is, is it's when the earth's temperature increases. This is mainly due to carbon emissions that come from the usage of vehicles, power plants and many other toxins that are harmful. This creates holes in the ozone layer meant to be like a protective shield around the planet. Because of the increase in temperature, glaciers melt and the sea level is rising, destroys the habitats of many animals.

It is important to keep the cyle going of protecting our planet. Ways that we can do this is keep spreading the word of what Earth Day represents to sisters and brothers, family, friends, and neighbores. Explain to then what we do as individuals, or as a community; not just one day, but every day to keep the environment free from further damage.

Examples of these are:

-Plant a tree in your yard.
-Recycle as much as you can.
-If age appropriate, have your kids walk or bike ride to school.
-When not at home, keep lights off.
-Make posters and display them at school or at home.
-Ensure you are preserving water by checking leaky faucets.
-Conserve water by not leaving water on when brushing teeth.
-Limit time in the shower.
-Wash car less often.
-Replace filter in air conditioner often.
-When shopping at grocery store, use recyclable bags.
-Volunteer to help clean up your local park
-Teach kids how to grow plants and herbs
-Build a birdhouse in your backyard

Picture This!

"BOY MEETS BOY"

This specific picture I took was from a part in one of my favorite books called Boy meets Boy. In the part that this picture refers too, Paul and Noah are painting. But they are not painting anything specifically, they are closing their eyes, while listening to music, painting what they feel. I like that specific chapter that they do this because painting what you feel is like being able to let your thoughts flow freely. In this case they flow upon a paper, or wall in which you are painting upon, but its the fact of feeling free, and letting go, and listening to your body and mind and expressing it through paint and colors blindly.

In the book Paul is the narrator,
a high school sophomore who is gay. He has known he was gay since kindergarten and is happy about it, as are his parents and friends. His friends turn to him for comfort whenever they are "freaking out". Noah on the other hand is a newcomer in town. There is a spark of attraction between him and Paul from their first meeting, but his last relationship went badly and he is wary of being hurt again. He is interested in photography and painting.

Minimization

The first picture I chose to "minimize" was taking a look at the busy streets of NY city. My second was a birds eye view looking over a beautiful resort, and third fire trucks on parade.
